After a 20 year career in the New Zealand Army and serving overseas in Zimbabwe, Singapore and Malaysia; Ian continued an active passion, in the outdoors, by managing some key NZ outdoor organisations. It was during this later time that Carol (his wife) and Ian volunteered to run Khunde Hospital, which lies on route to Mt Everest Base Camp.
Although very active in his church life it wasn’t till later that he answered a call and was ordained in the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. Having studied at St John and Laidlaw College he served in his home parish of Waiheke Island. In following Carols career, as a medical doctor, they both came to Doha, Qatar in 2014. His interests include gardening, boating and scouting.
Carol and Ian have three grown up boys Angus, Kenneth and Daniel and Abby our daughter in law.
